The Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) was a 25 year old man when he married Khadijah (RA) who was many years older than him, and happily stayed with her for 25 years. If this should teach us anything, it is that the traditional idea that the wife’s age should be close to or lower than the husband’s is not necessarily true all the time. What actually matters is not the age but mutual compatibility and maturity.
